Sambor Prei Kuk home stay - 3 days/2 nights
Starting at the bus station or at any hotel in Kampong Thom
Day 1
Meals: L D
We advise you to take the public bus from any bus company. 
Arrival in Kampong Thom should be around 1030. If you start your journey in Phnom Penh you have to take the bus departing not later than 0730. If you start your journey in Siem Reap you have to take the bus departing not later than 0730.
After your arrival please contact the Isanborei office at Kampong Thom. Sign up. You will get all necessary information. Departure from Kampong Thom will be at 1130 by a shared Isanborei tuk tuk.
After your arrival at Sambor Prei Kuk you will enjoy a Cambodian lunch. Your luggage will be transferred to the home stay.
After lunch you will head out to the ruins of Sambor Prei Kuk by bike. You will visit the three main temple complexes: Prasat Sambor, Prasat Tor and Prasat Yeah Puon on foot. Get on your bike and cycle through the forest to some of the outlying ruins before cycling to the home stay.
Dinner will be at your home stay.
Day 2

Today you will partake in Cambodian village life. After your breakfast you will participate in a village activity of your choice.
This will also depend on the season. This can be either helping with the rice harvest, planting rice or a handicraft activity. You can also choose a Cambodian dancing lesson.
Lunch will be a picnic lunch.
After lunch you will visit the high school*. Then you will be introduced to the secrets of the Cambodian cuisine and will cook your own dinner. You will first gather the ingredients at the local market and at the school vegetable garden.
Finally you will enjoy your self-made dinner.
Overnight at your home stay.
* On Sundays and school holidays the school is closed and this program is not possible.
Day 3

Get up early for a traditional Cambodian breakfast. This tour in the morning will focus on life as it is in a typical rural community.
After breakfast we will visit the local temple where your guide will introduce you to Buddhism and local beliefs. After this we will visit several houses that engage in handicrafts such as basket weaving, silk weaving. Visit a house where many different fruits and vegetables grow. After this visit you will enjoy a Cambodian picnic lunch next to a small river.
Return to you home stay to pick up your luggage.
At 1400 you will go back to Kampong Thom where you will board the public bus to either Siem Reap or Phnom Penh.
